The collection contains 3653 exhibits including coins, medals, badges, banknotes.
Money and ships have been related for centuries. Shipping was usually associated with trade and finance. Majority of the collection’s exhibits present or commemorate geographical discoveries, famous seafarers, sea battle or sea trade. The collection is supplemented from the private collections and the Bank of Lithuania.
Among the unique exhibits there are banknotes of inflation marks issued in more than 300 places in Germany and Austria in 1918–1923.
